Gainers:

5. Dow Chemical, US, Chemicals

“Losers”:

1. AIG, US, Insurance (surprised?)
2. Fortis, the Netherlands, Insurance
3. Sasol, South Africa, Energy
4. Standard Bank, South Africa, Banking
5. Goldman Sachs, US, Diversified Financials

Two South African companies on the “losers” list, and not in very good company, to boot.
